“So often people equate health with diet, and no doubt it plays a big role – a major role, in fact. But the food on your plate isn’t the only thing that affects you. Health Coaches are trained to look at the other aspects of your life – like sleep, stress, hydration, career, relationships, and all those things we sometimes take for granted. When these factors are out of line, they can cause detrimental effects on one’s body. It’s amazing what the body can do once some of the oh-so-important basics, like sleep and stress, are in check.”
And this is exactly why I am a health coach. I started becoming more interested in my health in 2014, focusing on exercise and cleaning up my diet. Then, in 2016, through my own mental health struggles, I studied the brain and mind because I wanted to understand why I was feeling the way I was. What I found was SO MANY connections between mental health and nutrition and really every aspect of life. I started to dive deeper into this when I worked in counseling and then found the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. I knew this was the perfect program for me because they also saw the importance of focusing on all aspects of life and how it relates to health. I have hired my own coaches in the past and always saw drastic changes in my life. I am thrilled I get to help others in the same way. So often we wait until symptoms appear to get help. This is the way our “healthcare” system currently operates. But I want to encourage people to take control of their health to prevent those symptoms from ever appearing. We all have a vision for what we want our life to look like and how we want to feel. A health coach helps you break it down into achievable goals, keeps you accountable, tracks your progress, celebrates wins with you, encourages you to strive for more. The best part is that there is no script or one size fits all approach. My program is tailored to you as an individual and your specific needs. We partner together so that you can attain that vision you’ve always wanted for your body, for your health, for your life. Clients often see results such as weight loss, stress reduction, improvements in diet and exercise, management of chronic conditions, increased productivity, adjustment to life changes, less prescription medications (which often have long term side effects) and so much more. Where do you want to be even a year from now? If you change nothing, nothing changes. Health coaches will not give you quick fixes, we will provide the tools for lasting change. If you feel overwhelmed in your health journey, I can help you figure out where to start and make small changes that add up to a big difference. Investing in a health coach ensures that you have someone in your corner at all times and a set time or two each month when you will focus on your goals. It is not only an investment in yourself, but so often as you start to take your health more seriously, others around you will as well. That’s the ripple effect we love to see! Take some time to reflect on your own health journey, what is working and what is not. What goals do you have? Do you feel stuck or maybe stressed and not even sure where to start? As always, reach out if you have questions. - CS
